Andrew is a theatrical composer/lyricist based in Hull. He currently works as a singing teacher and accompanist for the Northern Academy of Performing Arts.

 

Andrew graduated NYU’s Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program in 2014. His recent works include a rock-horror-musical-comedy, THE TREES (Music & Co-Lyricist with Joe York) and a romantic Texas country musical, BUG TUSSLE (Music & Co-Lyricist with Jonathan Pearson), which both received Equity readings in New York.

His songs have been performed in concerts at venues in New York including Sardi's and 54 Below.

 

Andrew recently worked as an orchestrator for the Landless Theatre Company's experimental new prog-metal production of SWEENEY TODD. This involved transforming Sondheim's original score by arranging the music for 6 piece metal band. 

 

Andrew graduated from the University of Hertfordshire in 2012, attaining a first class honours degree in Musical Composition and Technology. Before this he spent many years working for the Northern Academy of Performing Arts in Hull in various positions, including Composer, Theatre Technician and Musical Director.

 

Working with NAPA between 2008 and 2011, Andrew developed a series of 4 full-length children’s musicals, all of which were produced by the school.

 

As a musical director, Andrew has worked on a variety of productions ranging from THE BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE IN TEXAS  to JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOUR DREAMCOAT. Andrew has written original scores for productions of ALICE IN WONDERLAND and THE CAUCASIAN CHALK CIRCLE.  

 

In 2007, Andrew became an associate of the London College of Music with a degree in musical theatre teaching, focusing on vocal technique and incorporating acting and character work.
